I am currently 10 weeks pregnant. Two years ago I was very ill with pneumonia, empyema, & a spontaneous pneumothorax (collapsed lung). I was taking the same amount for at least 3 years(all Dr. Rx). I started Tramadol after a doctor advised me it was safer than hydrocodone and not addcitive since it is not a narcotic. I'm here to tell you that is a lie. You may decide to stop taking tramadol on your own, but make sure to let your doctor know that you intend to stop. Your physician will be able to help you gradually reduce tramadol use in order to minimize withdrawal symptoms. I started taking 400mgs of ibuprofen after 3 hrs due to pain breakthrough with the Tramadol. Helped for a few weeks. I then started taking Tramadol and 400mgs ibuprofen at the same time. This combo works the best but this is no way to live. Today was my second day off of them and I know the w/d can't.
